In my Art 121 class, we had to draw something with 10 different values or hues, I went with both, splitting the 10 required between treys, black, greens and reds. Overall I like the piece and the reactions from critique were awesome, but a lot of people from my class said that my character was too sexy. Once I actually said the story behind the piece then their reactions changed a bit.
On Halloween night my character Akira had lost a bet and so she wore a Angel costume to her town's Halloween bash despite the fact that she is the complete opposite, a demon. Something happened and a little amulet on her choker that keeps her powers at bay and allows her to be human, was ripped off. In the drawing we see her mid-transformation into her demon/true form. A common thing in anime I incorporated into this is power following from underneath going up into a beam of light, which makes the thin fabric of her dress lift up as easily and high as it does.
Once I told my classmates this they realized that she wasn't as "sexy" as I had accidentally had portrayed her to be.
